Feininger on Photography

The first presents information about equipment, materials, darkroom, camera and processing negatives and prints; the second section, The Art of Making a Photograph, goes into contrasts, color, space and perspective, lights and lighting, motion, composition and the picture story. This copy is the first edition published by Ziff-Davis; when Crown took over the publishing of the book, they initially replaced the dust jacket with one of their own before publishing a revised edition in 1953.
